Acoustics / Sound Testing:
At Inspector Pro we offer the latest technology in testing your buildings or residence for sound compliance. With the popularization of wood flooring and the increased demand of vertical residential development, the need to have your home checked for compliance with sound proofing has become essential.

Says who? The International Code Council, the California Building Code, Los Angeles City Building Code and other local codes have all set a baseline for your homes sound proof level. It maybe would be easier stated that it is the level of sound that your house should be able to contain.

In Summary Form - The manner in which your home is constructed should provide for sound absorption so as to not inflict nuisance on your immediate neighbors.

Where InspectorPro fits in: There are two methods of testing used to determine whether or not your home provides adequate containment of, or protection from, sound.

These tests determine the efficiency of the design for sound proofing.
  • ST C - Sound Transmission Class
  • IIC - Impact Insulation Class

We test your living space by creating sound and or impact sound and record the levels in the adjoining spaces. Once the results are found, you dwelling will be given a level rating, and that will be compared to the minimum levels set forth by the governing entity, state, local, international or your HOA.

So what does it do for me? By having your space tested and the spaces of those nearest to you, you all will have the ability to say you’ve been tested and are with in the specifications set forth by the governing body, and that the daily noise is just daily noise.

Now what? Call to set an appointment; you’ll also need to coordinate with the neighbors so we can ave access to the adjoining spaces. We will also ask you a few questions over the phone, HOA name, CC&R stipulations etc.
