Some of our clients order an Engineering Review because of special concerns they have related to the age of the building, location, size, and other factors. This review can be very helpful in outlining potential structural issues affecting the property. It is often most efficient to schedule the Basic Report and the Engineering Review to occur simultaneously. Many of our clients are not concerned about engineering issues and prefer a Basic Report without the Engineering Review. InspectorPro inspectors may observe conditions in the building during the Basic Report site-visit that could result in a recommendation for an Engineering Review.
An InspectorPro Engineering Review is prepared by a structural
engineer and typically includes a report describing observed conditions
that may reduce the structure's capacity to resist seismic or wind forces.
These conditions may be related to the building being located on or near
steep slopes, or because there have been previous questionable structural
modifications to the building by others, or because the bracing systems
are out-of-date by modern standards.
